Support students who experience learning challenges to achieve their best through evidence based, mediated support.
2027–2028 Hybrid UK-Accredited Qualification
Build excellence in your setting with our hybrid Mediated Learning Support Assistant (ELSA) Training Course—an extensive training course to upskill your staff in understanding how learning happens, and how they can best support.
This flexible training is designed for school staff to utilise individually, as part of SEN support programmes or within group and classroom settings. The learning taken away will be applicable in a range of settings with all ages.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout the programme, MeLSAs gain the skills to:
Apply psychological theories of learning to intervention planning.
Adjust and adapt programmes or interventions for individual learners.
Support teachers to facilitate metacognition, working memory and mediated learning within the classroom.
Deepen their understanding of literacy and numeracy learning and what to do when a young person experiences difficulties in these areas.
Facilitate both individual, group-based and class support.
One of the most valued outcomes of the training is the ability to confidently create individualised intervention plans, leading to more meaningful progress and improved wellbeing outcomes for children.
